DRYDEN — A Mississauga resident has been charged for allegedly impersonating a peace officer during a towing incident west of Dryden.
OPP officers responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Machin at roughly 11:30 p.m. on April 26.
Officers found that the police did not dispatch the towing company that was attending the scene.
Further investigation also revealed that a representative of the towing company impersonated law enforcement in order to attend the scene instead of another towing company that had been dispatched by the police.
A 41-year-old Mississauga resident has now been charged with impersonating a peace officer.
The individual is scheduled to appear before the Dryden Ontario Court of Justice in January.
