THUNDER BAY — Provincial wildlife investigators are asking the public for tips following the discovery of a bull moose that had been shot and abandoned this month in a remote area west of Thunder Bay.
A Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) news release said on Thursday the animal’s carcass was spotted by a passerby a few weeks ago in the area of Burchell Road, about 130 kilometres west of the city.
The animal was distinguished by small antlers, the release said. It was found in provincial wildlife management unit 11B, an area hunters may be familiar with.
Anyone with information can contact a dedicated MNR tips line at 1-877-847-7667.
