Much of region under freezing rain advisory

Environment Canada says the rain could last through the morning and applies to Dryden, Vermillion Bay, Kenora, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.

DRYDEN – A freezing rain advisory is in effect for Dryden and Vermillion Bay and other parts of Northwestern Ontario

According to Environment Canada, in a Friday morning post, areas of freezing rain are occurring in the area, which could lead to ice accumulation and slippery surfaces.

The weather is expected to continue through Friday morning.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions.

The advisory also applies to Kenora, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.  

Temperatures are expected to climb above the freezing point for much of the day.
