WABASEEMOONG INDEPENDENT NATIONS — A 32-year-old faces a murder charge after a death in the community earlier this week.
Provincial police on Friday confirmed the death of 61-year-old Alex Smith is being treated as a homicide.
Police arrested Emma Jane Fisher, who was charged with second degree murder.
Fisher remains in custody and is expected to appear in a Kenora court next week.
A post-mortem will be conducted in Toronto to confirm the cause of death.
The charges have yet to be tested in court.
