SIOUX LOOKOUT --No one was injured in a plane crash north of Sioux Lookout early this week.
The crash took place Tuesday afternoon, on the frozen surface of Lac Seul Lake.
A rescue beacon was activated and a search and rescue team from 435 Squadron was sent to help by parachuting Search and Rescue technicians to the crash site within an hour of the incident.
The pilot and passenger were both uninjured and were flown to Sioux Lookout by helicopter.
The plane was a Cessna 2-0-8 operated by Bamaji Air based in Sioux Lookout.
The plane had left the Sioux airport at around 1 p.m., and went down around 30 kilometres northwest of the airport.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
