Numerous charges laid following RIDE check

Two individuals are facing charges following a RIDE check on Wednesday.

FORT FRANCES -- Numerous charges were laid on Wednesday following a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) check on King's Highway.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, while speaking with a driver on Wednesday, July 27, officers noticed an open container of cannabis within the vehicle.

Police say a further search revealed three imitation handguns and live ammunition.

Police arrested and charged Trent MORRISSEAU, 20 of Fort Frances with two counts of failure to comply with the conditions of a release order by carrying or being in possession of a weapon and possession of an imitation weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.

Tibor ORGONA, 19 of Scarborough was also arrested and charged with possession of an imitation weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace.and personation with intent to avoid arrest.

The accused made an initial appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 27, 2022.
