ATIKOKAN — An off-duty provincial police officer intervened after having to avoid a collision with an impaired driver.
Police said the officer encountered a vehicle being driven eratically in the Lone Pine area of Atikokan just before 5 p.m. on July 8.
The officer called in the incident, which led to the driver being arrested.
A 38-year-old from Atikokan has been charged with impaired driving and careless driving. The accused has been released from custody and is due to appear in an Atikokan court in August.
