KASABONIKA FIRST NATION — Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) apprehended an alleged drunk driver on Wednesday.
Officers working in Kasabonika Lake First Nation were on patrol Wednesday evening when they observed a motorist driving a pick-up truck through stop signs without coming to a complete stop, according to a release.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and approached the male driver.
During the investigation, the officer observed several signs that the motorist was impaired by alcohol.
After a brief struggle, the 32-year-old suspect was detained and has been charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and obstructing a peace officer.
The accused has since been released from police custody with conditions and a future appearance date.
