SACHIGO LAKE FIRST NATION — One person died after a collision between an all-terrain vehicle and a pickup truck earlier this week.

Nishnawbe Aski Police Service officers responded to the incident on Tuesday in Sachigo Lake First Nation, which is about 425 kilometres north of Sioux Lookout.

Police said responding officers found a man that sustained significant trauma. Police attempted life-saving measures while the man was taken to the nursing station, where he ultimately died from his injuries.

The identity of the 28-year-old man was not released by police.

Police said the investigation, which also involved the OPP's technical traffic collision investigation and reconstruction unit, is ongoing but it has been determined there was no criminality involved in the incident.
