SIOUX LOOKOUT – A third individual has been arrested in connection with an ongoing homicide investigation in Sioux Lookout.
Kevin Masakeyash, a 26-year-old from Sioux Lookout, has been charged with accessory to murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and threats to cause death, Ontario Provincial Police announced on Monday.
The victim, identified as Adrianna Bottle, age 40, of Sioux Lookout, was pronounced deceased by Emergency Medical Services on Aug. 11 after emergency services responded to an incident in the municipality.
A post-mortem examination was completed on Aug. 14 at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Services to confirm the cause of death.
On Aug. 14, the OPP announced that 36-year-old Allen Yerxa and 21-year-old Erin Gray, both of Sioux Lookout, had each been charged with first-degree murder as a result of the investigation. Yerxa is also facing a drug trafficking charge.
Masakeyash is being held in custody for bail court and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sioux Lookout on Saturday.
The OPP stated that while investigators do not believe there is an imminent threat to public safety, the agency was reminding members of the public to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity to the police as an investigation continues.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
