DRYDEN — A 36 year-old Dryden woman is facing numerous charges after Ontario Provincial Police say they searched a local residence and found a variety of suspected illegal drugs, including fentanyl.
According to a media release, officers executed a search warrant just after 5 p.m. on January 15 at a home on Wilson Street and uncovered suspected fentanyl, cocaine, prescription medication, as well as “further evidence of drug trafficking.” The accused was arrested at the scene, police said.
The woman has been charged with trafficking and possession of fentanyl, as well as possession of cocaine, unauthorized possession of a weapon, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
The investigation involved the OPP Dryden, Fort Frances, and Sioux Lookout street crime units, police said, as well as the northwest region canine unit, and other members of the Dryden detachment.
Police said the accused was taken into custody, and she had an initial court appearance on January 16.
It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
