OPP charge two drivers with impaired on King’s Highway

Rainy River OPP caught two individuals driving while under the influence of alcohol on the King Highway.

FORT FRANCES – Rainy River OPP responded to two separate traffic complaints that led to two individuals being arrested and charged with impaired driving on June 15, according to OPP Northwest Region.

The first was just before 7:00 p.m. when officers responded to a traffic complaint of a suspected impaired driver on Kings Highway.

The second individual was located just before midnight leaving a business on Kings Highway.  

During the separate investigations, officers determined that the drivers were impaired by alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

As a result, a 42-year-old from Emo Township and a 25-year-old from Fort Frances have been arrested and charged with impaired driving

The 42-year-old has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on July 29.

The 25-year-old has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court later that day.
