OPP lay drug charges in Melgund Township

Dryden and Ignace OPP have charged a Melgund Township resident with drug trafficking.

MELGUND TOWNSHIP – According to the Ontario Provincial Police, a traffic stop on Highway 17 near Melgund Township has led to drug trafficking charges.  

In the afternoon on Feb. 20, officers searched the vehicle and occupants and found a quantity of cocaine and Canadian currency.

As a result, a 37-year-old has been arrested and charged with trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 18.
