OPP lays impaired charge

Red Lake OPP arrested and charged one individual with impaired driving.

RED LAKE – While out on patrol, officers with the Red Lake OPP performed a routine traffic stop on a passenger vehicle in the area of Lakeview Avenue.

According to the OPP, the officers determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, a 25-year-old from Red Lake has been arrested and charged with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

In addition to the criminal charge, the accused was also charged with the provincial offence of having an obstructed licence plate.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Court of Justice on Feb. 15.
