FORT FRANCES – Provincial police have arrested and charged three teens following a break-and-enter investigation at a business on Third Street East.
On Nov. 18, police responded to an alarm call at the local business. Once they arrived on the scene, officers found forced entry to the building; however, the suspects had already fled.
During the investigation, officers located the three individuals that were connected to the incident.
As a result, a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been arrested and charged with break and enter to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
As well, a 13-year-old, has been arrested and charged with break and enter to commit an indictable offence and failure to comply with a release order.
Two of the youth have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances at a later date. One youth remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
On Sunday, police responded to a break-in at a business on Scott Street.
Police arrested a 27-year-old and charged him with break and enter to commit an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Fort Frances court in January 2024.
