FORT FRANCES — Police in Fort Frances have arrested four people on drug charges in connection to a traffic stop.

On Feb. 11, OPP conducted a traffic stop just after 10:30 p.m.

Police discovered that one male in the vehicle was allegedly breaching release conditions, according to a media release.

Police said they discovered suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

Officers also seized approximately $3,300 in Canadian cash.

Two people were remanded into custody: a male, 33, from Big Grassy First Nation and a female, 23, from Couchiching First Nation. They are facing several drug-trafficking related charges and the male faces additional breach of release charges.

A 54-year-old male and a 30-year-old female from Fort Frances were charged with drug-trafficking related charges and were released with conditions.

It is Newswatch policy not to name suspects whose case we do not expect to follow through to its conclusion in court.
