IGNACE — A fatal collision on Highway 17 west of Ignace resulted in an extended road closure.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday, emergency crews responded to a collision involving two commercial motor vehicles just west of Ignace.
OPP confirmed the crash was fatal but not the number of fatalities.
An investigation is ongoing and police are expected to provide further updates.
The highway was closed for approximately 11 hours, reopening just after 2:30 p.m. according to police.
