Police seize over $500,000 in drug bust

After executing a search warrant at a home in Fort Frances, police seize illicit substances and a large amount of money.

FORT FRANCES – Treaty Three Police Service (T3PS) and Rainy River OPP announced that a search warrant was executed at a residence on Osborne Street on Jan. 24.

A vehicle was also searched in connection to the investigation.

As a result of their investigation, police said they found suspected illicit substances including cocaine, crack cocaine, oxycodone, fentanyl, and morphine.

Officers also said they had seized approximately $30,000 in drug-related proceeds and items associated with drug trafficking adding up to a combined estimated street value that exceeds $500,000.

Police have also arrested and charged a 30-year-old from East York with five counts of drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and obstructing a police officer.

In addition, a 33-year-old from Fort Frances was arrested and charged with five counts of trafficking.

The accused are scheduled to appear before court on Jan. 25 to answer the above charges.
