DRYDEN – Employees of Princess Court represented by Unifor have received a 2.1 per cent wage top-up ahead of the Christmas holidays.

Unifor Local 324 represents 120 people working at Princess Court in Dryden. In addition to the wage top-up, registered practical nurses will also receive a new $2 per hour premium.

“Princess Court workers have received 8.4 per cent in wage increases and a number of monetary gains under the current three-year contract set to expire on June 1, 2025, but under the new wage re-opener agreement paid out this week, all wages will be also be increased by an additional 2.1 per cent with registered practical nurses also receiving a new $2/hour premium both retro-active to June 1, 2024,” said Katrina Peterson, president of Unifor Local 324, in a news release.

“Unifor has established a solid working relationship with Princess Court and we appreciate their willingness to negotiate this new wage re-opener agreement that enhances our member’s wages and helps offset the high cost of inflation affecting our members and their families,” she added.

Some members received up to $4,800 in retroactive pay, said Stephen Boon, Unifor’s northern area director.

“Inflation rates are finally beginning to return to more normal levels, but the wage enhancements secured with Princess Court will help address the cumulative impact of inflation over the last three years and the timing of these payouts is especially welcome at this time of year as our members and their families enter the holiday season,” said Boon.
