Public complaint leads to impaired driving arrest

ATIKOKAN — A public complaint about a possible impaired driver led to a 28-year-old from Rainy River being arrested.

Provincial police said they received the report from a member of the public on Wednesday afternoon, leading to them conducting patrols and finding the vehicle.

The vehicle was pulled over and officers determined the driver was impaired.

The accused is charged with one count of impaired driving, and received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

A court date has been scheduled for next month.
