Rainy River OPP lays drug charges in Fort Frances

The Rainy River OPP has arrested and charged one individual in Fort Frances.

FORT FRANCES – Shortly after 10 a.m. on May 23, officers with the Rainy Rivers detachment were out on patrol in the area of Fourth Street West when they observed an individual known to have an outstanding warrant, according to OPP Northwest Region.

Police say they searched the individual and found methamphetamine and other items associated with drug use.

As a result, a 24-year-old from Fort Frances has been arrested and charged with drug trafficking and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before court on May 24.
