DRYDEN — Dryden OPP have arrested and charged one individual after a motor vehicle collision on Highway 105.
Officers responded to the collision roughly 15 kilometres north of the city at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
As a result of the investigation, police determined that the driver involved in the collision had been consuming alcoholic beverages and placed them under arrest after refusing to provide a breath sample into an approved screening device.
The 27-year-old Red Lake resident has since been charged under the Criminal Code with failing or refusing to comply with demands.
The individual has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden in February.
The OPP stated it remains committed to taking alcohol and drug-impaired drivers off roads through enforcement and public education.
OPP urge residents suspecting someone is driving impaired by alcohol or drugs to call 911 to report it.
It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
