SIOUX LOOKOUT – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout lifted a boil water advisory Friday, three days after issuing it.

The boil water advisory was put in place on Tuesday afternoon for all of Sioux Lookout north of the CN Rail tracks, including the airport.

The municipality said the advisory was made because a contractor damaged a water main on private property.

The break compromised the safety of the drinking water supply, said the municipality.

A safety protocol, including two days of sample testing to ensure safe drinking water, was followed.

Acceptable results from the testing were received Friday afternoon, a Sioux Lookout news release said.
