Sioux Lookout — The Meno Ya Win Health Centre welcomed its first newborn of the year on the morning of New Year’s Day.
Matthew Luca Strang Keeper was born at 7:32 a.m. on Wednesday to parents Ricquel Strang and Aidan Keeper of Pikangikum First Nation.
Baby Matthew weighed in at seven pounds and ten ounces.
According to a release issued on Wednesday by the hospital, both baby and mom are doing well.
