Threats lead to arrest in Saugeen First Nation

A 35-year-old faces a multitude of charges in the Jan. 19 incident.

SAUGEEN — A 35-year-old has been arrested and charged with a number of offence after police in Dryden responded to a threats call.

Ontario Provincial Police, in a release issued on Tuesday, said they answered a call at a residence on Sapay Street in the Ojibway Nation of Saugeen at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 19.

Police have not released many details about the incident, or the identity of the accused.

The accused is charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with a probation order and mischief under $5,000.

The accused has been held in custody and faces a future court date.
