Timmins resident charged in Red Lake snowmachine theft

Police seized a quantity of suspected illicit substances during the arrest.

RED LAKE — OPP were called to a home in Red Lake for a stolen snowmobile. 

Just after 7 am on Monday morning, officers arrived at the Pine Crescent address after receiving reports of a stolen motorized snow vehicle. 

A short time later police found the vehicle on Highway 105 near Young Street, where the accused was arrested. 

Police determined through their investigation that the accused was impaired by drug and also had a number of suspected illicit substances on their person, including cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl.

A 33-year-old Timmins resident was arrested and will face seven charges at a future court date. 

The accused has been remanded into custody.
