Traffic stop leads to drug charges

One person is charged following a traffic stop on King's Highway in Fort Frances.

FORT FRANCES – At 1 a.m. this morning, the Rainy River OPP initiated a traffic stop in the 500 block of King's Highway while out on patrol.

According to OPP, the driver of a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol with a blood concentration of 80 plus.

As a result, a 26-year-old from Fort Frances was arrested and charged with impaired driving. The OPP also said they found cocaine and the individual was operating the vehicle without insurance.  

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on March 25.
