FORT FRANCES — Two people face multiple charges after a traffic stop led the seizure of drugs and weapons.
Provincial police said officers stopped a vehicle while on patrol in the area of Fifth Street East in Fort Frances on Saturday evening.
The investigation led to officers seizing suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone, along with a firearm, imitation firearm, cash and items associated with drug trafficking.
A 41-year-old from Fort Frances is charged with three counts of drug possession and one count each of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose. A 36-year-old from Fort Frances is charged with three counts of drug possession and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The first accused remains in custody, while the second has been released with a December court date.
