The driver of a tractor-trailer escaped with minor injuries, but police found a major defect in the vehicle.

DRYDEN — A Toronto-area truck driver faces multiple charges after a collision on Highway 17 west pf Dryden over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

A tractor-trailer landed upside down just off the roadway after a single-vehicle collision in Docker Township on Saturday morning.

The driver escaped with minor injuries.

Ontario Provincial Police charged a 24-year-old resident of Brampton with careless driving, failing to enter a defect in a daily inspection report, and driving a commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it.

According to OPP, the latter charge was laid because the driver had to tie one of the truck's doors shut to prevent it from opening.
