WEBEQUIE FIRST NATION — A drug investigation nabbed two suspects in the remote community.
A search warrant was executed at a home by NAPS (Nishnawbe Aski Police Service) officers with both the intelligence and emergency response team (ERT) on March 20.
During the home search, officers seized suspected cocaine, cash, and other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
Two suspects were located in the home and taken into custody without incident.
An 18-year-old male and a 43-year-old female, both from Webequie First Nation, are facing charges of drug trafficking and possession of proceeds of a crime.
Both have been released from custody with conditions and future court appearance dates.
The Service withheld the names of accused individuals until charges against them have been sworn before the courts.
