Vaaniy Foods brand frozen porotta is recalled in Ontario due to undeclared milk.

THUNDER BAY —  A recall was issued warning residents across Ontario for Vaaniy Foods brand frozen porotta, a south-Indian style flatbread.

This recall was issued as the frozen porotta could contain milk, which was not declared on the label.

Those allergic or sensitive to milk are urged not to consume the recalled product.

The Public Health Agency of Canada also warns the public not to serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled frozen porotta.

It added that those who bought the recalled product should return it to where it was purchased or throw it out for safety.

As of Tuesday, no adverse reactions had been reported in association with the consumption of the frozen porotta.

The recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency test results and a food safety investigation is being carried out, which may lead to the recall of other products.

The CFIA is working to verify that Vaaniy Food Inc. is removing the recalled product from the marketplace.

Residents seeking more information on the recalled frozen porotta are encouraged to consult the recall notice on the Government of Canada Recalls and Safety Alerts website.

The public health notice will be updated as the investigation evolves.
