KENORA — A 20-year-old faces impaired driving charges after a vehicle was on fire.

Provincial police said emergency services were called on the evening of Aug. 30 about a vehicle being on fire and blocking the bridge at Highway 671 near Drewry Lake.

Nobody was injured and the bridge was not damaged as a result of the fire, police added.

The investigation led officers to determine that the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and brought to the OPP detachment in Kenora.

The 20-year-old from Devlin, Ont., is charged with two counts of impaired driving.

The accused has been released from custody and is due to appear in a Kenora court later this month.
