Environment Canada says those living in Atikokan, Shebandowan, Quetico Park and Upsala areas should use extra caution as meteorologists track a severe thunderstorm that possibly produces a tornado.

Residents should expect high damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall.

Environment Canada advises the public to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.

In the event of a tornado, or if a tornado warning is issued for your area, it is recommended to stay indoors on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet.

For those in mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, Environment Canada advises the public to move to a strong building if you can.
