Youths likely to face charges after multiple break-and-enters

Multiple break-and-enters over the weekend lead police to at least one youth suspected of being involved.

FORT FRANCES — Provincial police expect to lay charges against three youths suspected of being involved in multiple break-and-enters.

Provincial police responded to a break-and-enter on Saturday evening near the northeast area of town.

Shortly after, police received two more calls for similar incidents and a vehicle was then reported stolen in connection to the first burglary.

During their investigation, police located a 13-year-old who had some of the stolen property in their possession. Two others have been identified as accomplices while police continue their investigation.

The names of all three are being withheld in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Several charges are expected to be laid once the investigation is complete.

The police encourage everyone in the area to check their property and security cameras and report anything suspicious to the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit information online at www.ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
