Mrs. Beverly Jean (Bev) St. Jean, 74 years of Nipigon, Ontario passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2024, at the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital in Nipigon, Ontario.

Bev was born in Saint John, New Brunswick. Over her working career Bev worked at the Voyageur Restaurant, Zechner’s Food Market, Manilla’s Home Hardware and the Public-School Board. She had a passion for fishing and she spent countless hours on the banks of the Nipigon River and other lakes and rivers. She loved animals especially dogs. She also had cats, and she rescued animals over the years. Her favourite time of year was Christmas, and she always made sure it was very special each year. She enjoyed baking as well.

Predeceased by her parents Ida and Harold Dampier; she is survived by two children-Andrew (Marleen Huber) St. Jean of Nipigon, Ontario and Todd (Sue) St. Jean of Thunder Bay, Ontario, by eight grandchildren Kayla, Braiden, Madison, Jessyka, Morgan, Mackenzie, Tehya and Seth, by five siblings Carilyn (Mauno) Ronkainen of Cornwall, Ontario, Sharon (Howard) Golberg of Nipigon, Ontario, Lynn (Guy) Fortier of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Sonny (Jane) Dampier of Chilliwack, British Columbia, by Norma Dampier of Thunder Bay, Ontario, by numerous nephews and nieces, and grand nephews and nieces. A cremation has taken place. The family would like to thank the staff at the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. Special thank you to Dr. Foulds, Dr. Scott, Cathy Blanchette, and Louise Dupuis.
