It is with great sadness that the family of Bradley Davidson Rody announce his passing on January 11, 2025 after a brief illness.
Brad was born to Ronald Sr & Rona Rody on October 26, 1962 in Port Arthur, ON. He attended Algonquin Public School and Hammarskjold High School where he made many lifelong friends. Dad was an avid outdoorsman, a passion that he proudly passed onto his children.
Having worked various jobs through the years, his career in the lumber industry began at Great Lakes Paper Mill. Then in 1984, he started at Northern Wood Preservers, a career spanning 26 years until its closure. He then moved onto mining, accepting a position at Musselwhite Mine. Dad later took a position at Loch Lomond Equipment, as he wanted to be closer to his grandbabies.
Brad is survived by his wife Brenda of 40 years, daughter Jessica (Jeff) Sved, son Russell (Olivia) Rody and grandbabies Brinnley, Ryker and Raven, all of who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by brothers Brett (Karen) Rody, Ron (Lynn) Rody of Thunder Bay and sister Janora (Jerome) Bidulka of Edmonton. Also surviving are father-in-law Lloyd Pichette of Nipigon, Wayne (Sylvia) Pichette, Tim (Geraldine) Pichette, Linda (Dan) Hutchinson, Garry (Bonnie) Pichette, Michael (Laura) Pichette as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dad is predeceased by his parents Ronald Sr. and Rona, his mother-in-law Betty Cormier and his grandparents Ewen and Mary MacLennan, David and Ustine Rody as well as aunts and uncles.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinsons Canada, Northern Cancer Fund or a charity of your choice.
A special thank-you to all of Dad’s care team at TBRHSC; Dr. Dykstra, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Ward, Dr. Ali, Dr. Ibrahim, Dr. Ramchander and of course to all of Dad’s AMAZING nurses.
From Brenda: “I would like to thank Brad with my whole heart for giving me the honour and privilege of being his wife. I love you. Until we meet again.”
Much love Always and Forever
Brenda, Jessica and Russell.
