July 29, 1950 – March 30, 2025
It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of an incredible human being after a brief and hard-fought battle with cancer. Like everything he did, Brian did not do cancer half way. Unfortunately, as strong as he was, he could not beat this.
He was a proud member of the IUOE Local 793 and was Area Supervisor for NWO as well as a Pension Trustee and Executive Board Member. He was also responsible for setting up pipeline training across Canada and well known for his negotiating skills.
A man of many talents he accomplished many things in his life and we are very grateful for everything he gave us from his love and wisdom, to his sense of humor and everything in between.
We would like to extend our utmost thanks to Drs. Nigro, Minty and Mozon for years of care and Drs. Ward, Bezanson and Migay for their wonderful care during the hardest of times. Sharon at O.H.A.H and the Palliative Care nurses Holly and Nadia at St Joe’s are the true definition of angels of mercy. You will forever be in our hearts.
Brian is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife Sheila, son Tyler (Shalyn) and daughters Reily (Steven) and Erin (Justin). Grandchildren, Lorrie (Charles), Keelin, Conor, Thatcher, Walker and Carys and great grandsons Levi and Nash. As well as numerous family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Con and Edna Madigan, brothers Connie and Lawrence, best friend Bruno Creglia and father and mother-in-law Gordon and Nan Fitzgerald and brother-in-law Alan.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at a later date. If anyone so wishes donations may be made to the St Joseph’s Care Group Palliative Care Ward or a charity of their choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.sargentandson.com.
