Carole Ferland, aged 68, passed away on September 19, 2024 at the TBRHSC with family by her side. Born on December 13, 1955 in Quebec, Carole and her family later moved to Schreiber, Ontario where she spent the majority of her life. Carole was known for her hardworking, dedicated, outgoing and friendly nature.

She dedicated over 30 years of her life as a cook, most notably at the Rossport Inn, as well as several other local establishments including the Voyager Restaurant, Hungry Moose and Breeze Bakery. Her commitment was admired by all who knew her.

Aside from her professional life, Carole was an avid lover of the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, snowmobiling, quading, fishing and camping. She cherished the moments spent with her beloved cat, Gizmo.

Carole is survived by her loving husband, Robert Fummerton; her children, Bobby Jo and Monica; her grandson, Brayden; step-granddaughters, Alexus and Evvie Lake; her brothers, Micheal, Peter and Maurice; and sisters, Aline and Anna. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply. Carole was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Ferland; mother, Monique Barnette; stepfather, Neil Bottomley; and niece, Chantal Comeau.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of 2C at the TBRHSC for their care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole's memory can be made to the humane society, honouring her love and compassion for animals.
