It is with great sadness that the family of Cassandra Leigh Charlie, age 36 years, announce her unexpected passing at home in Fort William First Nation on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.

Cassandra was born in Thunder Bay on July 27, 1988 to Jeff Charlie and Roberta Fenton. She was a kind and gentle free spirit. Her most treasured accomplishment was her children, whom she loved dearly, kept close to her heart and meant the world to her. Cassandra loved to sew and bead, and take long walks while reading her favourite novel.

Cassandra will be deeply missed by her children, Keeley Rae, Riley, Calem, Ryder and Cassie; her parents Jeff Charlie and Roberta Fenton; her only sister and best friend, Brittany; brothers Mathew, Harvey, Cory and Jeff Jr.; Grandmother Yvonne Charlie; Aunts Karen Bannon (Tim), Denise Collins (Guy), Andrea Fleury (Rolland), Valerie Charlie (Allan), Shirley Everett, and Uncle Leonard Stillaway. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family also survive.

She was predeceased by her Grandfather Harvey Charlie, Grandfather Charles Christinsen, Grandmother Hazel Fenton and Aunt Renee Charlie.

Funeral Services for Cassandra will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 11:00am in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, officiated by Deacon Michael Robinson. Cremation has already taken place and interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Fort William First Nation.

Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Cassandra to the TBRHSF would be greatly appreciated.
