Born May 5, 1945 in Port Arthur, passed away peacefully September 9, 2024 at TBRHSC.

Evelyn was employed at Dawson Court as a nurse's aide and at Lakehead Scrap metal as a secretary. She had a lifelong hobby of showing and breeding Shih Tzus. She had Tootsie as her last dog until 2022. Evelyn's greatest joy was her family and she was really a family person. She made many spaghetti dinners for the family, and always held turkey and ham dinners with all the fixings on each special occasion.

Evelyn was survived by husband Edward Sarachman, her son Richard Lavack, Carla Lavack, her sister Rose Matte, her brother Maurice Blanchard, son-in-law Brian Saari. She was also survived by grandchildren Candice (John) Hamlin, Eddie (Megan) Saari, Christopher (Serena) Saari, Trevor (Megan) Culhane, Kevin (Sarah) Lavack and Jan (Micha) Lavack. Her great-grandchildren Kaija, Matthew, Olivia and Noah, Degan, Esmae, TJ and Bria.

She was predeceased by her parents Susan Harriet and Roy Blanchard, her brother Raymond Jaggard, sister Fran Guitard, brother-in-law Gerry Matte and her beloved daughter Diana Saari.

A graveside ceremony will be held at Sitch Cemetery in O'Connor at 1pm Saturday, September 14, 2024 with a light lunch at the Sarachman residence, 89 Earl Road, Kakabeka (off Hwy 595) to follow.
