Obituary Candle

The family of Kelly Matheson regret to announce the passing of a sweet, kind and gentle soul on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

Kelly was born on December 2, 1955 to parents Joseph and Lelia Matheson. He had many interests including: reading, watching races, listening to music, his extensive record collection, building models, and fishing with his buddies. Kelly was the number one fan of the Doobie Brothers. He loved cats ... many cats in the neighbourhood on Archibald Street waited for his daily walks where he would stop to pet them. Kelly loved family gatherings, especially time spent at the Camp at Green Point. He worked at Dominion Motors for many years.

Kelly is survived by his sister, Janis Marostica; his nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Dave) Kashuba, Cathy Marostica, Colleen Marostica (Mark), Jolie (Tom) Conroy, Kevin (Catriona) Marostica; and his great nephews and nieces: Dylan, Harrison, Julianne, Norah, Iris, Maia, Vincent and Payton, as well as his brother-in-law Jim Hamer.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother Lelia, who was devoted to him until her death, his father Joseph and his sister Joanne Hamer.

Special thanks goes to the staff at Lakehead Manor, and for the exceptional care that he received at TBRHSC in the Emergency Department and on 3B, especially Dr. Ward and nurse Shiv.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place in the Spring, when Kelly will be laid to rest with his mother and grandparents in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.

Kelly...we hope that you are at peace...

and you were loved so much...Forever in our hearts.♥
