Mrs. Mary Victoria Schoolcraft, age 98, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Hogarth Riverview Manor. Mary was born in Wales, UK on July 20, 1926 to Albert and Mary Dix. At the age of 3, Mary and her parents travelled across the Atlantic Ocean on the Montrose to Canada from England after WWI, where they settled in Mansonville, Quebec. Mary would live there until 2005 when she moved to Thunder Bay to be closer to her family.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sister Dorothy Savory, daughter Ann Perales, son Douglas H. Magoon (Rochelle), grandchildren Tania Hudson (Paul), Alan Perales (Kristi), Cyndi Perales Ridley (Jason), Ellen Magoon, Greg Magoon (Minda), great-grandchildren Samuel Perales, Liam Ridley, Alexys Perales, Ava Perales, Brandon Gay, Tyson Gay, Griffin Magoon, and Foster Magoon. She was predeceased by her husbands, Douglas H. Magoon Sr. and Ormand Schoolcraft, sister Joan Dix, brother Tom Dix, and son-in-law Dr. Gonzalo Perales.
A private service and interment will be held in Mansonville, Quebec next summer. Arrangements are in care of the Blake Funeral Chapel.
