On January 12, 2025, one week after his 78th birthday Murray Wilson passed away.
Murray was born in Nakina, ON in 1947. The family moved to Port Arthur shortly after. Murray attended Five Mile School, Hammarskjold High School and graduated from Lakehead University. After LU he worked for MTO and then MNR in Nipigon for 28 years, retiring in 2003 and then moved back to Thunder Bay. In 1970 Murray married Lynne Smith. This year would have been their 55th anniversary.
Lynne and Murray have three children: Patrick Wilson (Tracey) and their daughter Sierra (Travis), Keri Willan (Billy) and their daughters Ally (Caleb) and Kayla (Liiam), Jeff Wilson and his daughter Miiah. Murray is also survived by siblings: Ron (Jean), Margaret, Robert (Carolyn), Darlene, Luann (Ron), Sheila (Brad) and nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay Post Polio Association would be appreciated.
