It is with profound sadness that the family mourns the passing of Raymond Wickstrom, age 71 years, of Thunder Bay, on March 20/25.

Raymond was born on June 18, 1953 in Thunder Bay. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending quality time with family at the lake. He will be missed by his wife Carolyn and children; Tina (Dan) Travolo, Elisa (John) Manytla, Farrah Taipale, Irae Wickstrom, Lorin (Denise) and Jason Curiston. Throughout his battle with cancer, Ray was surrounded by the love of his grandchildren; Daniel (Jasmine), RaeAnn, Eric, Ethan, Cora, Mika, Carley, Cara and Kattarina. His great grandchildren; Meea, Jack, Nash, and River, brought him so much joy, making some of the most difficult days more bearable.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his siblings; Dennis (Beth) Wickstrom, Denise (Andrew) Bouley, Evelyn Lehto, Carolyn (Terry) Lehto, and Donnie Lehto. He will be especially missed by his Dad Arnold Lehto. Raymond never took for granted the time he spent with his Dad and special friend Diane, at One Island Lake.

Many others will remember Raymond for his tenacious work ethic and friendship. He demonstrated strength, resilience and determination in all the things he did. Raymond truly had ‘sisu’. He was predeceased by his mother Aili Lehto, father Reino Wickstrom, and brothers Ricky, Danny and Donald.

The family would like to thank the TBRHSC Cancer Centre physicians and nurses for the compassionate care they provided. Please join the family to celebrate Raymond’s life on May 4/25, from 130-430pm at Gorham & Ware Community School, in Gorham township.
