Rose Sandrin died with grace and dignity on December 6, 2024 at just 91 years of age. She was surrounded with the love of her whole family and with the peaceful knowledge and quiet assurance that she was going to meet God.

She was born on June 15, 1933 in Fort William, Ontario. She spent her life raising her seven children in Westfort and maintaining her lifelong home. As a constant caregiver, she believed in putting family before anything else, just as her parents taught her.

Throughout the years, she worked, volunteered and contributed to her community wherever she could. Rose would help anyone at any time and those that were lucky to know her would say that she was a quality friend. She was quiet and respectful, uniquely intelligent and quick-witted, a good listener yet an outgoing and adventurous spirit. She never shied away from a challenge and was willing to try all that her amazing life had to offer.

Her humble demeanour, genuine kindness, strength, selflessness, generosity and youthful can-do spirit touched so many lives. Her smile brightened a room, and her laughter was truly infectious.

She taught us to think twice and do once, that the sun will shine tomorrow and countless other pearls of wisdom that are ingrained in our memories. She was quick to share her encouragement and always held each of her children in her heart.

She is very much loved and her memory will be cherished by her children, Michael (Karen), Diane (Ron) Schopp, Marian (Norm) Campbell, Peter, John, and Marcella Sandrin (Peter Inkila). Her legacy will also be carried on by her 13 grandchildren. She was also proud to have 18 great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her loving parents, Metro and Dora Wydyniwski (Vischik); her sister Joanne Yurchuk and brother William (Bill) Wydyniwski.

She is also predeceased by her husband Albert Sandrin, daughter Janet Maidment, daughter-in-law May Sandrin, and son-in-law Ron Wood.

Thank you to Dr. Sacevich and Dr. Wark for teaching her the tools she used to stay with us as long as she could; and more recently, Dr. Hinkkala for ensuring she was comfortable while we said goodbye; and Dr. Simpson and Robert for their compassion and recognition of her beautiful essence. A special thanks to the caring staff.

At Rose's request, no funeral will be held. A private burial will happen at St. Patrick's Cemetery on a later date. Should you wish to make a donation in her memory, she liked to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation and MS Canada for her husband and daughter. The best way to honour her would be to show warmth and kindness wherever possible and to be generous in spirit and heart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.

Thank you for keeping "the coffee pot on" for all of us.
