Mom was an amazing lady with the strongest heart I've ever known. She wasn't just a fighter she was a warrior.
Mom left us on November 11th 2024 but I was lucky enough to take this journey in sickness and health which began in 2012 with a trip to Hamilton for cancer intervention.
This was an amazing lady who taught me lessons such as community service. I got to go down to the old train station to the free clothing depot and hang out with the coordinator (her) where she also received an award from Dusty Miller former mayor of Thunder Bay.
She raised 4 kids on little income and was never too proud to take any job that would feed us pumping gas at Grandview mall in the middle of winter.
This lady went back to school in her 50s and did her class presentation on paying forward which she did many times Modeling after her humble dad, Grandpa Brownie she would make gifts when times were tough like the doll house she made out of an old shelf for me when I was a child.
She was never too proud to buy second hand or used and make it into something beautiful.
She ran a tight ship. The house was never dirty even with four kids. She would take us camping in grandpa Mini's camper at Mirror lake and Trowbridge. Now that's bravery. Throw 4 kids and yourself in a truck with a camper that just sits on the back and go for a week.
She was so tired after that She leaned on the edge of the sectional coach, thinking it was the tailgate.and went for a pee.
She was cool,we got our nose pierced together her idea. She sent out search parties for me many times when I would run away but she always found me.
I remember when she bought her first house on Clavet street. Mom loved that house and opened her heart and shared it with two boys from India. We were their first Canadian family and still are to this day.
Mom, there are so many things you did that were amazing and what you taught me shows in my actions everyday.
I'm grateful.I got to travel this journey with you. It wasn't easy for you or me.
I know you're at peace because I got to help you make that peace and I will carry that in my heart forever.
I know how much you loved birds and mom you are a bird now and you can fly.
I will be tucked under your wing forever.
I love you forever.I'll never forget when you looked me in the ice and said "you have blessed my life in so many ways."
Rest easy you worked hard too damn hard.
If anyone so desires in lieu of flowers or anything donations to kidney foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated.
Love forever
