Sophia Roy, born on September 9, 1949, in Salzgitter, Germany, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2024, in Thunder Bay, surrounded by her loving family with a smile on her face.
Sophia and her family immigrated to Canada in 1951, where she grew up and spent the rest of her life.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Sophia was predeceased by her parents, Stan and Stella Nawrocki, her husband Aurele, and her grandson Connor.
She was eager to reunite with her loved ones.
Sophia had a lifelong passion for crafting, sewing, and knitting.
She devoted her talents to creating cherished projects for her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of love and creativity.
She is survived by her sons, Joe (Jody) and Cary (Tracy), her grandchildren Dawson, Mckenna, Caitlyn, and Erica, her sister, and the extended Roy family.
The Roy family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the 7 North Trillium wing at Hogarth Manor and Dr. Echum for their kind and compassionate care until the very end.
Sophia's warmth, kindness, and creative spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
