It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Margaret Drndak on Monday, December 30, 2024. Alice was born in Fort William, Ontario on December 2, 1932 and resided in the east end of the city for most of her life.

After meeting Andrew Drndak at a young age, their love blossomed, and they were married on May 15, 1954. They went on to celebrate 55 years of marriage until Andrews passing in 2009. Through this love they welcomed six beautiful daughters. As a family, they took many trips to Hawaii, where they enjoyed making memories in what would soon become like a home away from home.

She was a proud member of Slovak Legion Branch 129 and the Catholic Women’s League of St. Peter’s RC Church. She enjoyed many years being a Girl Guide leader in the community. One of her greatest joy was her family, where she could often be seen on the floor playing with her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered for her baking, including torte, rozkis, and her frequently requested pancakes. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Alice is survived by her loving daughters Debbie (Burns), Susan (John Doman), Theresa (Anthony Widla) and Donna (Brian Walker). Grandchildren Lisa (Jesse), Stephen (Laura), Sarah, Richard (Christine), Andrea (Tyler), Jessica (Eric), Victoria (Joseph), Aaron (Madison), Jordan, and Taylor. She also had 11 great grandchildren and another on the way.

She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, daughters Karen Louise (in infancy) and Barbara, parents Peter and Rose Miller, brother John, and sisters Frances and Ethel, along with other extended family.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the immeasurable care provided by nurse Nicole at Southbridge Lakehead Manor during Alice’s final hours.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at St. Peter’s RC Church at 10:00 am, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Arockiam. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at a later date. For those unable to attend there will be a livestream of the service available. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
