April 7, 1938 – February 1, 2025
With heavy hearts but immense gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of our precious mom, Beverley Morrow, a beloved wife, mother, Nanny, aunt and friend. Mom passed away peacefully at home on February 1st surrounded by family and love, and is now reunited in heaven with our beloved sister Sandra. She was born in Kakabeka Falls on April 07, 1938 to Edith and Rolland Martyn and was raised with her siblings on the family farm in Murillo.
Out of high school, Mom loved working at Northland Machinery and made lasting friendships before she and dad got married in 1963 at which point mom made raising the family she cherished her primary focus. Together mom and dad built their beautiful, loving home on Avondale Place in Thunder Bay to raise their family. Once the kids were in high school, she worked at Buns Master Bakery for several years where she enjoyed meeting new people and seeing old friends and making new ones.
Mom was an angel on Earth, always putting others before herself. She loved children, especially her grandchildren. She always made sure her children and grandchildren got what they needed and almost always what they wanted. Mom simply lived for her family. She had a cheeky sense of humour and delighted in sharing a joke or making her grandchildren laugh.
Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling with lifelong friends Karen and Jim Dowhaniuk and Sylvian and Dave Dalton to Las Vegas and Minneapolis and taking our families on camping trips together. They enjoyed their trips to Arizona to visit Joan and Floyd and family and also made many precious memories taking our gramma Edie on trips to Florida, Expo ’86 and to various casinos over the years. In their later years, mom and dad thoroughly enjoyed their monthly trips to casinos in Hinckley, Grand Portage, and Black Bear in Minnesota, going out for breakfast Saturday mornings, and visits with family and friends. Many cherished memories were made with family, friends and neighbours at camp which mom and dad renovated and turned into their home on Lake Shebandowan from 1979 to 2012. Endless hours of enjoyment and laughs were shared around bonfires, playing cards, fishing for pickerel and bass, building forts, saunaing, swimming and going for boat rides.
Beverley is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Bob, daughter Randi (Kerry) Monteith, daughter Karen (Peter) McGuinness, son Kevin (Candy) Morrow; grandchildren Kylee Monteith, Quinn (Adam) Monteith, Lauren McGuinness, Brendan McGuinness, Caitlin Morrow and Michael Morrow; brothers Clinton, Milton, Morley (Thelma) Martyn; sisters Holly Chornawka, Marlene Bell, Sharon (Dave) Takalo, Sandra (Rod) Duke, Sheila Vaillant; in-laws George (Lorraine) Morrow, Terry (Valerie) Morrow, Barbara Morrow, June Martyn and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mom was predeceased by our sister, Sandra Joy Morrow (tragically taken from us in 1978), parents Edith and Rolland Martyn; brothers Melvin (aka Bob), Leonard (aka Jiggs) (Elinor) Martyn and Buster Martyn; sister Gladys (Happy) Holland; sisters-in-law Thelma Martyn and Jannette Martyn; brothers-in-law Jimmy Bell, Grant Vaillant (infants William and Heather); nephews Ken Martyn, Jeff Martyn and Blaine Chornawka; nieces Debbie Bell and Jennifer Ahola; in-laws Pearl and Albert Morrow, brothers-in law Dale (Marilyn) Morrow, William Morrow (Bob’s twin); sister-in-law Joan (Floyd) Romano and nephews Brad Romano and Andy (Paula) Morrow.

We wish to thank dear friends Wendy Bell, Mary Anne Harris, MaryAnn Tuomi, Silvia and Jim Martin and Anne Marie Noel for being there and helping mom out when we needed you most.
Cremation has taken place and as per Mom’s wishes, there will be no service. A private family interment will take place at a later date at St. James cemetery in Murillo. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations in mom’s memory to Northern Cancer Fund (healthsciencesfoundation.ca), Hope for Wildlife (hopeforwildlife.net), St. James Anglican Church in Murillo, St. Joseph’s Foundation of Thunder Bay (sjftb.net) or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
