Charlene is survived by her son Ryan Pitre (Samantha); her grandchildren, Colton McLeod; Grayson, Brynlee & Berkley Pitre; Phoenix Pitre; Kale & Kamryn Appelkvist. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Debbie Grano and Tracey Donylyk as well as her many close friends and family.
Charlene was predeceased by her beloved son Steven Pitre; her brother, Michael Donylyk; her niece Jennifer McFarlane and by her parents, Arlene Donylyk and Robert Grano.
Charlene was born and raised in Fort William. Charlene treasured her family and friends and truly embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. Charlene retired from WSIB after 30+ years. After retirement Charlene followed her passion for helping others and took great pride as a volunteer with Hospice Northwest and numerous other non-profit organizations where she would volunteer her time to help as many people as she could.
Charlene will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Thank you to all the doctor’s, nurses & staff at TBRHSC for their excellent care of Charlene and for their guidance during this difficult time. Special thank you to her niece Jackie Werys, cousin Danielle Fabiano and all other family and friends that visited, called or sent messages – each of you held a special place in her heart.
Cremation will take place, with interment, at a later date in the summer of 2025 with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Charlene’s memory may be made to Hospice Northwest or Faye Peterson House.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
